About Me

Hello, I'm Tony Allaker. Thank you for taking an interest in my website.
I am fortunate to live on the outskirts of the English Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with ever changing views due to the seasonal variations and the unpredictability of the infamous British weather.
I have always loved taking photos, in particular relating to landscapes, wildlife and travel. I am developing this website as a record my favourite images from the start of the digital photography era.
So the website is currently 'work in progress'. I am starting by adding landscapes taken in this fantastic part of the world, and will gradually update and expand my portfolios as time permits to include my favourite landscape, wildlife and travel photos. I am actually having a great time, as while I am reviewing my photos I am remembering the frosty mornings, the sunrises, the mists clearing, and, when I could force myself out of bed early enough, the feeling of having an amazing place all to myself. I think that preserving memories is one of the magical aspects of photography.
I will be including more information about me and my photography experiences through a series of Blogs. I have also included a section on the equipment I have had and currently use - see 'About My Gear'.
I am also active on Instagram and Facebook and have a back catalogue of photos up to around 2016 on Flickr (Landscapes, Wildlife, Travel), so please feel free to visit my sites by following the links below.
I have images in portfolios on a website called Picfair which can be purchased as digital downloads under licence or as prints, framed prints and canvas prints. I am continually adding to these portfolios but if there are any images you are interested in my Gallery whch are not currently available to purchase directly please Contact me and I will be happy to help.
I hope that you enjoy the site and the photos. It would be great to hear your views on the website, photos, Blogs, etc. either through likes or comments, or via the contact page.
